Weekly Reminders

The Apostle Paul writes on the importance of mindset in Romans 12:2, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” It brings up the question, what is a Christian mindset? Paul gives further insight into this with his letter to the church in Philippi, (Philippians 2:1-13). Just to give a hint - the Christian mindset has a lot to do with knowing Christ. On August 16, Michael Stanfield, representing Gideons International, shared an update on the Gideons’ ministry and gave a wonderful testimony about how simply stopping to read the Bible can change a person’s life. Over the last few weeks, many people have made donations to Gideon’s through our church. This past week, Nancy tallied the donations and sent a $500 check to the Gideons! Thank you all for supporting this wonderful ministry.

The Christmas Bell Choir will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, September 30th, at 5:30 p.m. in the Bell Choir Room. Those interested are encouraged to contact Davlin Smith.

The Prayer Team will meet in the Chapel next Sunday, October 4th, at 10:15 a.m. to pray for those listed on our prayer list, along with anyone who would like to be lifted up in prayer. You can also stop by if you have someone else to pray for.

No Evening Service
There will be no Evening Service this Sunday as many will be attending the Sunday School supper at the Phelps home. We will pick back up next week.

Daytime Bible Study?
We have several interested in a daytime Bible Study. It would be around 10:30 am on Wednesdays. If you are interested in participating, please contact the church office.

Meal Train for the Vitatoe Family
Anna Vitatoe will be having surgery on October 2nd, and a meal train has been set up for the family to allow them to fully focus on her recovery. There are still a few spots left to volunteer for. If you would like to join the meal train, click this link: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/420ey6

Elbert County Schools will be on fall break the weekend of October 9-12. Quite a few of us will be out of town. To make life simpler for those who are here, we will have ONE worship service on October 11th at 10 am in the sanctuary. Judge Tom Hodges is bringing the message, and he has been working on it for weeks! If you are still in town, come over!
