“What’s Your Greatest Treasure?”
Matthew 13:44-45, NIV
Rev. John Donaldson
We are going to spend another week on the parables of Jesus this week, looking at Matthew 13:44- 45, where Jesus shares a pair of stories illustrating the supreme, unparalleled value of the Kingdom of Heaven and the joy that comes from finding it. In the worship services, we will also have a special time in the service for praying for the upcoming school year – praying for the kids, teachers, administration, families. We hope you can all be present for one of this week’s worship services.
Blessings,
Pastor John

This Sunday, we will have a time of prayer over our students, teachers, and everyone working in education. Additionally, during the 9 am service, we invite all students to bring your bookbag with you! It's hard to believe the school year is already here, but we are excited to see how God moves through our students, teachers, and everyone who works in the educational system!
Our Prayer Team meets on the first Sunday of each month at 10:15 a.m. in the Chapel. The next date for this is Sunday, August 2. During this time, we lift up those on the prayer list and others who would like to receive prayer. Please stop by the Chapel during this time if you would like to receive prayer or have someone to pray for.

Mark your calendars, on August 3 from 12-5 pm, the Red Cross will be back at EFMC for the fall Blood Drive. According to the Red Cross, “One donation may help save up to three lives.” Some of you have saved whole villages! You can schedule an appointment online at www.redcrossblood.org or contact Autumn Wright. Thank you in advance for being willing to help.

Have you missed eating supper with your church family? The good news is that when kids are back in school, the Fellowship Meals are back! On Wednesday, August 5th, at 5:30 pm, we will have our First Wednesday Fellowship Meal. The August menu is spaghetti with meatballs, salad, garlic bread, and cake for dessert. Please note that the cost has changed slightly. It is still free for children 3 and under, still $5 for children 10 and under, and still $10 for Adults, but we now have a new “Family Rate”, just $25 to cover the whole household. We hope to encourage our church family to come and enjoy food and fellowship together!

We want to hear what God is doing in our church family! If you have a praise report and would like to share, send it to the church office using the email office@elbertonfmc.com. Your praises could encourage someone else!
