“Because we have been loved: we love.”
Romans 5:1-8, NIV
Rev. John Donaldson

What do you think was Jesus’ hardest commandment? Not judging others? Continuing to forgive? Take up your cross? How about loving your enemies? This seems an unreal commandment, but Jesus’ didn’t just say it, he lived it out. Paul writes about this in his letter to the Romans, 5:7-8. “Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Imagine loving someone despite all their flaws, pettiness, sins – what a gift is God’s sacrificial love for us. What does it mean to us to be loved so much? Come, beloved of God, let’s meditate on this passage on Sunday, June 14. Blessings, Pastor John

Vacation Bible School was a Success!
Thank you to the many who helped with VBS! It would be really hard to name everyone who volunteered, but it was just wonderful to see so many of us working together to give the kids this special week! Many pictures from the week are posted on our Facebook page.

Welcome Davlin Smith
Welcome, Davlin Smith, our new Choir Director! Davlin is from Athens, GA, and she is a graduate of GA State with a Bachelor of Music. She has over 20 years of experience directing church choirs, mostly in Methodist churches, and has recently moved back to GA from Pennsylvania. Davlin said, “My favorite quote is 'Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.’ - Psalm 98:4 (KJV) It doesn't matter your talent, music and praise comes from the heart! So sing out LOUD!” Welcome! ?
