"The Mission"
Matthew 28:16-20, NIV
Rev. John Donaldson
“The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.” This is one of the most famous and useful slogans of the modern era. It was coined by Stephen Covey, author of, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The message is to stay focused on your highest priority and do not be derailed by other less important tasks or distractions. In our scripture this week (Matthew 28:16-20), with his final words to his disciples in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus gives them, and us, The Main Thing. Look ahead at the passage, think and pray about how we keep Jesus’ priorities our priorities.

Sunday Worship
We’re excited to have a few special singers back leading us in worship this Sunday during the 9 a.m. service! Joining us will be McKenzi Harris, Emma Hart, Riley Grace Collier, and Jaukeem Fortson. Come and worship with us!
Stepping Stones Connect Group Is Back
The Connect Group, led by Dave Heydinger, is starting back up this Sunday. They will be going through the book Mere Christianity. If you do not have a copy of the book, don't worry, books will be available on Sunday.
Annual Conference
The 2026 Annual Conference for the North GA Global Methodist Church is this coming week, June 4 - June 6. Officially representing Elberton FMC are David Heydinger (Lay Delegate) and John Donaldson (Clergy Delegate). Jake Harper is serving as an additional “at-large” lay delegate. The Annual Conference is a very interesting event as the work of the previous year is celebrated, clergy are ordained, and plans for the future are made. Most of the sessions are open to the public. Wonderful Fellowship Lunch
Thank you to the many cooks who provided such a wonderful Fellowship Lunch following the service last week. It looked like most of those attending worship joined in the meal, and there was plenty for all, with some to spare. And thanks to all who helped with the clean-up! God is good!
WE DID IT AGAIN!
To everyone that participated in the April 13, 2026 Red Cross Blood Drive, THANK YOU! A total of 25 units of blood were collected! Up to 75 cancer patients, wreck victims, burn patients and others were the beneficiaries of your Gifts Of Life! Zack and Patti McLanahan spent hours contacting our donors via text. Mike McGarity and his crew set up the Crossroads Connection Center in preparation for the blood drive. Robin McCall and Kim Hover graciously greeted and registered our donors. Linda Remlinger, Jill Maycock, Connie Brown, Amelia Hopkins, and Paula McClure provided great food, and Linda Remlinger took excellent care of our donors after they donated.
THANK YOU DONORS! THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!
-Autumn M. Wright, Blood Drive Coordinator
Teachers Needed
Do you love the Lord? Do you enjoy studying the Bible? Do you feel drawn to encouraging young people in their faith? If so, have you considered being a Connect Group teacher? We have classes for all ages, and so we need teachers of a variety of ages. Both regular and substitute teachers are needed. If interested in finding out more, just contact the church office.
