"First Say No"
Luke 4:1-13, NIV
Rev. John Donaldson
Imagine in his ministry years, Jesus and his 12 disciples sitting by a campfire. Jesus says to his disciples, “let me tell you what happened when I was baptized by John. I was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness and led to fast for 40 days, then the devil came to tempt me.” “Not you Lord!” the disciples say together. “Yes me.” Jesus answers. And then Jesus describes his temptations. As he shares his disciples see many things – the reality that all are tempted, the way to answer temptations, the possibility of victory. Join us Sunday as we look closer at these temptations of Christ and the way to victory.
Blessings,
Pastor John

News & Announcements

Greetings from the Administrative Council and Trustees:
The leadership of the church has approved an update to our church logo. We agreed a unique logo was necessary and are pleased that our committee and artist chose our second floor stained glass as the logo. As a requirement of the Council, our Sign Maker has approved the final rendering and, under the direction of the Trustees, will complete the needed signage replacement work as budgeted.
The Council has also requested a 2-week Congregation review period in which we will accept your comments.
If you have questions or comments please send them to Donna Webb, Admin Council Chairperson, dw8444drose@gmail.com.
Please click labeled "Logo Update" to see other versions of the logo and how it will look on the building and other marketing materials.

Evening Chapel Service
Romans 12:1-8
The option isn’t whether we will conform; it's to whom we will conform.
Reasonable service or rational thinking is what sets us apart from the animal kingdom. It’s what gives us the ability to choose righteousness, to choose to sacrifice for others, to choose to be humble, and to deny ourselves -- to discipline ourselves. Still, how many people do we see behaving like a clowder of cats at feeding time?
Sacrificial living is not only a conscious decision, it also displays a change in character. When believers offer their entire self to God, the way they relate to the world changes dramatically. This is something to ponder during Lent.
How do YOU personally respond to self-denial?
Grace & Peace,
Pastor Ron

Community Meal
Elberton First, Bethlehem, Woodlawn, Middleton, Coldwater, Frances Asbury, and Ruckersville are joining together to serve a community meal on Sunday, March 23rd from 1-2 p.m. at the Rock Gym.
The meal is catered for chicken strips, green beans, and mac and cheese. The churches have divided up the cost for the caterer - but we need your help!
Each church is providing 10 desserts, 3 gallons of tea, and 3 gallons of water.
Woodlawn is bringing all the rolls and our church is supplying the paper goods out of missions’ budget.
We also need help that day serving the food, helping with drinks, and cleaning up.
We have no idea how many will come, but planning for 300.
If you can help, please contact PJo Phelps, at 706-318-0785 / phelpspj787@gmail.com or let the church office know.
But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
