Welcome

Christmas at First Methodist

"For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders, and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
-Isaiah 9:6
Christmas is one of the most busiest, and joyous time of the year! We have many events throughout the entire month of December. Take a look and see what's happening!

Hanging of the Greens

On Sunday, December 1st, during the 11am Worship Service, we will have a special service to celebrate the Hanging of the Greens. Join us as we begin the season of Advent, awaiting the birth of Christ. The service will also be livestreamed to the website, Facebook, and YouTube.

Pictures With Santa

Wednesday night, December 4, we will have a church supper (breakfast) at 5:30 p.m., followed by a special visitor, a director from the North Pole (by way of Oxford). Following pictures, there will be a rehearsal at 7 p.m. for all kids participating in the Community Christmas Cantata. Reservations for Santa Pictures are not required, but if you and your family plan to eat, please click the "register now" button to register online or call the church office by 4pm on Monday, December 2.

Christmas Caroling

Let’s spread the joy of Christmas in our community Sunday afternoon, December 8, by sharing the songs of birth of Jesus – singing at Magnolia Estates and some of our church members homes. We’ll meet in the Fellowship Hall at 5 p.m. to get organized. Please note the change in time to 5p.m.; this is to allow everyone the chance to attend the Elberton Christmas Parade. All are welcome!

Please note: There will not be an Evening Chapel Service that Sunday night.

Community Christmas Cantana

Multiple Choirs will join together to perform "God With Us, Emmanuel" on Sunday, December 22 at 6pm in the First Baptist Church. Our kids ministry will also have a part in the Cantata! Come out and listen to this beautiful Cantata arranged by Ed Kee. There will be an encore performance in the EFMC Sanctuary on Sunday, December 29 at 10am. Following that service, we invite you to join us for a soup lunch in the Fellowship Hall.

Christmas Eve Service

A reverent and meaningful way to prepare for Christmas is to attend the annual Christmas Eve Service. We will hear the message of the birth of our Lord and sing again the wonderful carols. We will enjoy special singers, including Henry Heydinger and Jaukeem Fortson, and Holy Communion. It is one of the most meaningful services of the year. Please note that Communion will not be prior to the service this year; we will take Communion towards the end of the service. All are welcome to attend!
