Local Missions

  • EC Food Ministry
  • ECSD Backpack Program
  • HOPE Ministry
  • Salvation Army

At Elberton First Methodist Church, we are committed to serving our neighbors and meeting practical needs throughout our community. Through financial support, volunteer service, donations, and prayer, we partner with local organizations that are making a difference in the lives of individuals and families across Elbert County.

EC Food Ministry
The EC Food Ministry distributes food to Elbert County residents on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Several volunteers from EFMC help pack and distribute boxes, and we also contribute financially to this wonderful ministry.

ECSD Backpack Program
The Backpack Program provides food to students who may face hunger on weekends and school breaks. Our youth pack 3 bags of food each week that are then delivered to one of the Elbert County Schools. By supporting this ministry, we help ensure that children have access to nutritious meals when they are not at school.

HOPE Ministry
HOPE Ministry serves individuals and families experiencing hardship by offering assistance, encouragement, and practical support. We are grateful to partner with them in sharing Christ's love.

The Salvation Army
EFMC partners with the Salvation Army at different times throughout the year on various projects. One particular project is the annual White Christmas ministry, which collects canned goods for distribution to families in need in our community during the Christmas season.

INternational Support

  • Compassion International
  • Dr. Hena - Missionary with Healthy Women, Healthy Liberia
  • Operation Christmas Child
  • Rise Against Hunger

Compassion International
Through Compassion International, children around the world receive educational support, medical care, spiritual guidance, and opportunities to grow in a Christ-centered environment. This ministry helps break the cycle of poverty while sharing the hope of Jesus. EFMC hosts a "Compassion Sunday" event, where we encourage families to sponsor a child. +++++++++++

Dr. Hena – Healthy Women Healthy Liberia
Dr. Hena serves through Healthy Women Healthy Liberia, a ministry focused on improving healthcare, education, and wellness for women and families in Liberia. Through prayer and financial support, we partner in this important work of compassion and empowerment.

Operation Christmas Child
Each year, our church participates in Operation Christmas Child by packing shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and the love of Christ. These gifts are delivered to children around the world, opening doors for the Gospel to be shared in communities worldwide.

Rise Against Hunger
Rise Against Hunger works to end hunger worldwide by providing nutritious meals to vulnerable communities and supporting sustainable development initiatives. EFMC has participated in several meal-packing events and is hosting one again in 2026! Learn more here: www.elbertonfmc.com/rise-against-hunger
