"Who You Gonna Listen To?"
Psalm 1
Rev. John Donaldson

Everybody's talkin' all day long, everybody's singin' a different song,
maybe they're right, maybe they're wrong, and who you gonna listen to?
-Don Francisco, Christian singer and songwriter

A great scripture passage to look at the beginning of the year is Psalm 1. This Psalm has this vivid contrast between, on the one hand, a rooted, well-watered, fruit-bearing solid tree. And on the other hand, chaff. This is the think husk that surrounds a seed and is separated from the seed as it is cleaned, and in the separation process chaff blows away, like dust in the wind. Do you want to be like a tree or like chaff? According to Psalm 1, the determinative factor is what or who you listen to. Who you gonna listen to?

Blessings,
Pastor John
