"Worship - What's It All About?"

Mark 12:38-44, NIV

Pastor John Donaldson

In the beatitudes, Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Synonyms for “pure” are words like authentic, real, and undiluted. In our scripture on Sunday (Mk 12:38-44) we look at someone who is genuine, pure in heart. She is contrasted with others whose faith is somewhat diluted. It is a great passage on what real worship is! We hope all who are able will come in for the Sunday morning worship services, offered at 9 and 11 a.m.

Blessings,
Pastor John

News & Announcements

Thank You
To all who helped with the District Charge Conference – Set up, Praise Band, Kitchen Crew – everything went really well!
Hoodie Drive
Thank you to all who helped with the Hoodie Drive! We collected over 60 hoodies of various sizes and passed them on to the schools. Hopefully this will help to keep all the kids warm!
Capital Fund Campaign
In the struggles over the last year, many church projects and needed repairs and improvements were put on hold. It is time to move forward again! Please consider making a special donation to our Capital Fund Campaign (CFC). Funds will be used for long overdue church repairs, planned maintenance and the pay for the balance of the cost for the new playground. As we are able, let’s all participate, so that we are building up the church together! Just mark in the memo section of your check, “CFC.” Thank you all for your generous and sacrificial giving!
This Sunday is the final day to purchase poinsettias in honor or memory of a loved one. They are $10 each, and forms are available at the entrances and on the church website.
This Sunday is the final day to drop off boxes. We will pray over these boxes during worship before they are shipped around the world for kids in need.
Looking Ahead...
White Christmas, A Celebration of Giving
Elberton First Methodist Church is one of the largest White Christmas supporters in our community. On Sunday, December 1st, we will begin collecting for our annual donation. We will observe White Christmas in both services on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
This year, everyone is asked to give Flour, Sugar and Peanut Butter.

As we give thanks for our many blessings and remember that so many families are suffering this year, we ask you to be generous. Please place your donations in one of the boxes (wrapped in Christmas paper) located in the Crossroads Connection Center or in the Sanctuary.

“And the King will reply to them, Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least of these My brethren, you did it for Me.” -Matthew 25:40
