"The Key to Victory"
Genesis 22:1-19, NIV
Rev. Tom Atkins

This Sunday, August 30, is a Fifth Sunday! We are looking forward to a Combined Service at 10 a.m. in the Crossroads Worship Center with music from our own Al McCall and Mark Wallace, with special guests up from Lincolnton, award-winning and well-known bluegrass and gospel musicians Little Roy Lewis and Lizzy Long! In addition to the wonderful music, we look forward to a meaningful message from our Conference Evangelist, Rev. Tom Atkins, “The Key to Victory!” AND, following the service, we will enjoy time around the table together with a Fellowship Lunch. The church is providing plenty of baked ham, and we are asking those attending to bring a side dish to share.

Invite a friend or two and join us this week for worship and lunch together!

Blessings,
Pastor John
Enjoy a great dinner with your church family. Wednesday night, September 2, we will have a church supper at 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The Menu is Country Fried Steak with Gravy, Rice, Green Beans, Rolls, and Peach Cobbler for dessert. Remember, we now have a family rate, just $ 25 covers your whole household. If paying separately -- free for children 3 and under, $ 5 for children 10 and under, $10 for Adults. Register online or call the church office by 4 pm on Monday.

Come and enjoy the food and fellowship together!
Daytime Bible Study?
We have some folks who do not like to do early mornings or evening meetings, so the church would like to offer another option. How does a daytime Bible Study or book study group sound to you? It would be around 10:30 am on Wednesdays. Please call or email the church office if interested.

Women's Retreat
There will be a Women’s Retreat on Saturday, Sept 19th 10 am to 2 pm at Woodlawn Global Methodist Church (378 Brad Dixon Rd, Elberton). This is a Conference-Wide Retreat, and the featured speaker is the Rev. Judy Stevenson, co-Pastor at Macland Community Church, a Global Methodist Church in the West Cobb area of metro Atlanta. The event is free, with brunch included, but attendees are asked to register at woodlawngmc.com.
We are still accepting items for the August and September mission project. Items include unisex jogging-type pants, undies, and wipes for pre-k and primary school. Donation bins are located in the entrances.
Our youth pack bags of food each week for local students who may need extra support, helping ensure they have meals and snacks to enjoy over the weekend.
