“The Bottom Line”
Psalm 103, NIV
Dave Heydinger
Hey Church Family,
I am looking forward to being together this week and bringing a message to you that I am prepared to make a very bold claim about. I believe that I can defend my opinion of what is the absolute bottom line of our faith! It also works out to be a great message for Father’s day. Often this is a light week for some reason in our attendance, I hope that is not the case this year. Dad’s are called to be the spiritual leaders of our families, so what better way to reflect that than for it to be even more highly attended than usual as we encourage our families to worship together – hopefully with multiple generations if you are so fortunate. Dad’s, bring your families. Kids, bring your dads. See you there!
Godspeed,
Dave

Our June 21 Preacher
Dave Heydinger, our much-loved Lay Leader / Lay Delegate / Stewardship Chairperson, will be preaching again this week. In addition to attending the annual conference and several church committees, Dave also teaches the popular Stepping Stones Connect Group, which meets upstairs in the Education Building - currently, they are working through the classic “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis. Dave is a graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering and is the founder and president of Mathias Corporation, a prominent construction company headquartered in Pendergrass, GA. Welcome back to the pulpit, Dave!
Text Message Test
Elberton First Methodist Church will conduct a test of our SMS text message notification system on MONDAY, JUNE 22, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. This test is to ensure the system is working properly and to identify anyone who is not receiving messages from the church. If you do not receive a message at the time specified above, please contact the church office by one of the following ways:
Phone: (706) 283-1863
Email: office@elbertonfmc.com
Magnolia Estates Chapel Service
Our monthly “chapel service” at Magnolia Estates is this Tuesday, June 23, at 11 am. It is always nice to have several church members present. Please contact the church office if you can assist in the service.
June 28 "Pulpit Swap"
Like they did last year, Rev. John Donaldson and Rev. John Moore will be “swapping pulpits” for the last Sunday of June. So next week, June 28, we will be blessed to have Rev. John Moore here at EFMC for both the 9 am and 11 am services. Rev. Moore is originally from Flowery Branch; he was ordained in the UMC in 1993 and joined the GMC in 2022. In addition to serving Bethlehem and Woodlawn GMC, Rev. Moore is the Connectional Elder for District 17 and the Chair of the Cabinet for the Annual Conference.
From the Finance Committee
We are thankful for the faithful support of the congregation for the Church, and we are mindful that family budgets are being stretched thin. However, recent giving has not met the needs of the budget, and we are entering the summertime where giving often falls off. Please prayerfully consider your support of the church budget. The general giving fund pays the salaries of our dedicated church employees, which is 80% of our budget.
