"Don’t Quench the Spirit"
1 Corinthians 12:4-7, NIV
Rev. John Donaldson
Join us this Sunday for a combined service in the Crossroads Worship Center, 10 a.m. on May 24. We will have Dawson Scarborough with us, sharing gospel music with an old country sound. It is also Pentecost Sunday! So wear something red and let’s celebrate the work of God’s Spirit in us and our community! Following the service, there will be a “potluck” lunch in the Fellowship Hall, to participate all you have to do is bring something to share!
Blessings,
Pastor John

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is observed on the last Monday of May. It is also considered to be the unofficial beginning of summer. Enjoy your gatherings with family and friends, and take a moment to be thankful, the freedoms we all enjoy were not free. “All gave some; some gave all.”
This Week’s Choir Practice
We hope all the choir can be on hand to practice on Wednesday night, May 27, as we welcome Davlin Smith as our interim choir director. Davlin is an Athens, GA, native and is moving back to GA from Pittsburgh, where she has served for many years as the choir director at Zion UMC, now Zion Community Church, GMC. Davlin will be with us at least through July 7th. Welcome!
Magnolia Estates
This Tuesday is our week to lead a chapel service at Magnolia Estates. We sing, pray, and serve holy communion. It is always a help to have several church members present. Please consider joining us in this ministry on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
