"One Day At A Time"
Matthew 6:25-33, NLT
Rev. John Donaldson
We are having graduation Sunday this week! We are very proud of our High Graduate, Leah Higginbotham, and our two local Athens Tech Graduates, Jake Harper and Rylie Jenkins! The preacher is also especially proud of his son and daughter-in-law, who graduated this spring – Katie Donaldson from Augusta University, and Thomas Donaldson from the University of Phoenix. Here’s a prayer (author unknown) for all our graduates and all of us going through changes of life.
God of Love, You are with us in every transition and change, as we enter into this new era with excitement and even some anxiety, we recall your deep compassion, presence, and abounding love. We thank you for the gifts, talents and skills with which you have blessed us. We thank you for the experiences that have brought us to this moment. We thank you for the work of others that gives breadth and depth to our own work. Be with us as we move forward, rejoicing with you and supporting one another. We ask this in your Holy Name. Amen.
Join us Sunday as we seek to have more peace today by meditating on Jesus' words about tomorrow.
Blessings,
Pastor John

Thank You!
Thank you all for the generous Mother’s Day Offerings! We raised $486! This will help cover a large part of our Rise Against Hunger Sunday on November 15.
Country Gospel & The Holy Spirit
Next Sunday, May 24, is a combined service at 10 a.m. in the Crossroads Connection Center. We will have Dawson Scarborough with us, sharing gospel music with an old country sound. It is also Pentecost Sunday, wear red, celebrate the work of God’s Spirit in our community and us! Following the service, there will be a “potluck” lunch in the Fellowship Hall. There is a sign-up sheet being passed around this morning. Please indicate how many are attending and what you intend to bring.
Summer Break
The last day of school is this Wednesday, May 20! While we will not have weekly activities for the kids and youth, we are planning several outings, beginning with a youth beach retreat from May 29 to June 1. Our youth, along with the youth group from Elberton Christian Church, are headed to Garden City, South Carolina. Please pray for safe travels to and from, and that everyone has a great time! Be on the lookout for other events over the next few months.
