"Aligning with the Cornerstone"
Rev. John Donaldson
John 20:1-18 & Acts 4:1-12, NIV
According to Wikipedia, a cornerstone was “the first and most crucial stone laid in ancient construction, anchoring the building's foundation and determining its entire alignment. It acted as the primary reference point for leveling and squaring walls, ensuring structural stability by bearing immense weight and connecting two walls to prevent collapse.” Don’t you find it interesting that this term, “cornerstone,” is one that is used in the Psalms predicting the Messiah? It is also used seven times in the New Testament to refer to Jesus – by Jesus, himself, and by Peter and Paul. This seems to be a theme, and so the natural question is, what is so crucial about this term when applied to Jesus? What does it mean that Jesus is our cornerstone?
Blessings,
Pastor John

Several members of the congregation have commented that they were missing our regular Sunday School and Connect Group Classes. The good news is that all the classes are back again this week, meeting from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Many have found that these small groups are a great way to get to know others at church better and to ask questions and learn more about our faith. If you haven’t tried a class yet, this could be the week! Whatever your age, there is a class for you!

Elberton First Methodist will host a Blood Drive on Monday, April 13, from 12 - 5 p.m. in the Crossroads Connection Center. Donors will receive a $15 E-Gift Card via email! To make an appointment, scan the QR code above or click the button below. *Enter [EFMC] if a sponsor code is required.
Check out the church merch store! New designs have already been added, including youth sizes. If you have any design or product recommendations, please let us know.
