"Perspective Matters"
John 4: 4-26, NIV
Donna Webb
Have you ever been asked for your opinion? Your answer is your perspective. It is shaped by your life’s influences. Your influences are as complex as your childhood experiences, or as recent as an article read on social media. Our bias is often an unconscious state of mind - it just is how we see things. However, if needed, we can make positive adjustments that can improve our future.
This week, we explore the complex story of the woman at the well. Her interaction with Jesus completely changed her life. Her perspective was changed by meeting the Savior of the world!
Join us on Sunday as we worship together.
Thirst, no more,
Donna

News & Announcements
Tornado Drill Rescheduled
If you had a Tornado Drill on your schedule for Sunday, March 8, you were not wrong. But, not wanting to interfere with our newly formed Connect Groups, the drill has been postponed until this summer. If there is a tornado emergency, the safest place on our property is the old Boy Scout room - to find, go to the hallway between the education building and the sanctuary, and take the stairs going down. (Follow the signs.)
The Classic City Band
The Classic City Band will present their 2026 Spring Concert, “With A Little Help From Our Friends,” on Sunday, March 8 at 3:00 PM at Hodgson Hall in the Hugh Hodgson Performing Arts Center on the University of Georgia campus. This free concert will feature local composers, arrangers, and soloists, including world premieres by local composers, along with works by Bach, Holst, Vaughan Williams, and more. We’re also excited to share that our own Tom Hodges will be performing with the band. The concert is free, ticketless, and includes free parking — we hope you’ll make plans to attend! If you are interested in carpooling, let Pastor John know, and we will take the church van. His phone number is (706) 421-6339.
Due to this event, we will not have an evening service this Sunday.
Brenda Cann Retirement
After 28 years of dedicated and faithful service, Brenda Cann is retiring as our Chancel Choir Director. She has been a tremendous asset to our staff, and her shoes will be hard to fill. Brenda plans to continue singing with the choir and serving the church in other areas. When you see her, “Thank Her” for a job well done!!
Easter Egg Hunt Candy
We are in need of candy to stuff the eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt on Palm Sunday. If you would like to donate candy, please place it in the bins in the Crossroads Connection Center and Sanctuary entrances or drop it off in the church office. We will also accept monetary donations to purchase candy. Please designate your offering for “Easter Egg Hunt.”

We’ve had a great first two weeks of Connect Groups and are excited to keep them going! There are groups available for all ages. Check the website for group locations and details.

We will recognize Compassion Sunday on Sunday, March 22, in both services. If you sponsor a child, we would like to highlight their name, home country, and maybe a few sentences about them. Please send this information by March 16 via email to the church office.

This Easter, you are invited to donate an Easter lily in honor of or in memory of a loved one. They are $10 each and will be displayed in the Sanctuary on Easter Sunday as we celebrate the hope and joy of the resurrection. If you would like to donate a Lily, please pick up a card in the Crossroads Connection Center or the Sanctuary entrance. You can also donate on the church website. All donations are due Sunday, March 22.

The annual Health Meets Hope 5K will be on Sunday, March 22, from 3-5 pm. Hosted by Friends of Advantage, this event raises awareness for mental health and IDD. Elberton First will have a booth at the event, giving away sno-cones. If you would be interested in helping with this event, please let the church office know. There is also a need for volunteers in other areas of the event, including setup/breakdown, Dunking booth participants, and route directors for the race to direct the route and hand out water.

Our 30 Pieces of Silver Mission Project this year will go towards Compassion International, a Christian ministry dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.
Bags are located at the Crossroads Connection Center and Sanctuary entrances. Please pick up a bag, place your change in it, and return it to the church on Easter Sunday.

On Palm Sunday, March 29, we will have a combined service in the Sanctuary at 10 a.m., followed by a Fellowship Lunch (the church is providing baked ham; the congregation is asked to bring a side dish), and then the annual Easter Egg Hunt! The Palm Sunday worship service will feature a cantata by our choir. It would be really nice to have more people in our choir for the cantata! If you like to sing and can make joyful noise, please consider joining the choir for the next five weeks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights.
