"Commanded To Do What?"
Ephesians 5:15-20, NIV
Rev. John Donaldson
Thank you to the many who made donations for the purchase of the new Our Great Redeemer’s Praise hymnals and the New International Version Bibles. With the new hymnals, I thought it would be appropriate to do a study on singing! Did you know that the Bible contains over 400 references to singing and at least 50 direct commands to sing? Singing is a vital part of the worship. It is a way of teaching and affirming our faith. It is encouraged for us as a group, as well as on our own. So what is your favorite hymn or Christian song? There are so many old favorites, but remember, Psalm 149:1 says “Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.” Join us Sunday, we will be worshiping the LORD with gladness and coming before him with joyful songs. (Psalm 100:2, NIV)
Blessings,
Pastor John

News & Announcements

Sunday mornings in August, there will be a fellowship time in the sanctuary overflow area from 10:45 to 11 a.m. Coffee, donuts, and something non-sugary will be available!

Come back tonight at 6 p.m. for a simple evening service in the Chapel. Along with singing and praying, we are enjoying the Faith Lessons video series, which offers lessons on how the actual geography of the Holy Land adds to the meaning of a passage.
