“Have you made up your mind?”

Luke 9:57-62

Bryce Keely, Youth Director

Hey Church Family,

Confirmation is a joyful and meaningful occasion in the life of our church. This Sunday, June 1st, at the 9:00 am service, we will celebrate the commitment of our youth as they affirm their faith and take an important step in their spiritual journey. Our confirmands have explored the foundations of Christian belief and what it means to follow Christ. Join us this Sunday as we celebrate our Confirmands through baptism and confirmation. Our scripture this week is Luke 9:57-62, where we will see what commitment looks like as Christians. Hope to see you there!

Blessings,
Bryce

North Georgia GMC Annual Conference
The second meeting of the North Georgia Annual Conference will be at the First Methodist Church of Greensboro, June 5 - 7th. Most of the business of the Conference will be conducted on Friday, June 6th, with the main business of Saturday being a service ordaining new clergy. Church and Conference Delegates are expected to attend, but most of the meetings are open to all who are interested.

Pentecost Sunday
With a little creative math, June 8 is 50 days since Easter Sunday, and so it is time to celebrate Pentecost! This event remembers the Holy Spirit coming down on the disciples as tongues of fire, and is often thought of as the birthday of the church! A Pentecost Sunday tradition is to wear something that is RED.
2 Peter 1:16-21
The trustworthy prophetic word. What's the difference between truth and prophecy? Actually, there should be no daylight between them. There are seven tests for a true prophet, and any prophet who fails any one of the seven is not a prophet at all. What part of Scripture isn’t trustworthy? People question things they can't accept, argue things they don't like, invent different theologies, and try to redefine what these words mean. Many decided that they actually mean something else based on how they feel. NONE of that matters, and Peter warns us thusly... at 6pm in the Chapel on Sunday evening! See you then!
Grace & Peace,
Pastor Ron

Note: Because of VBS, There will be NO 6pm Chapel Service next week, June 8.
Vacation Bible School is quickly approaching! The dates are Sunday, June 8 - Wednesday, June 11th. Please visit the church website to register your child. There is also a form on the website for anyone interested in helping with VBS.
